Photoshop Notes - Images and Masks

How to get an image on the other image?
Drag the layer onto the image.

How to reduce the size of an image?
Go to Transform(Ctrl+T) and change size

Make sure you are painting on the mask.

The Link icon links the mask and the image together.

Hard Brush for precise things. Opacity - 100%
Soft Brush for fading two things into each other.

This picture uses many different colors in order to give a strong impact on the viewers. It uses the color - element of design.

This picture is a perfect example of texture - element of design because it gives an impression of how the wall or the stair surface would feel when touched.

Elements of Design - Shapes

This picture represents the shape - element of design since it shows different shapes such as circle, square, triangle, etc.

In this picture, lines are used to produce a complex figure. Thus, it represents the Lines - element of design.

Principles of Design - Asymmetrical Balance

This picture represents asymmetrical balance as both the elements are not the same but still balance each other out in some way.

This Picture represents symmetrical balance because it shows the same face and shapes on both sides of the picture., though in different colors and forms.

This picture is a nice example for emphasis. The background is blurred and the Lion's face is emphasized upon in the picture. Thus, it stands out and catches the viewer's eye.

Principles of Design - Proportion

This picture represents proportion because the b-boy in front is greater in size than the people and the Eiffel Tower at the back. It shows how size of one object varies according to it's position in a picture as compared to other objects.

Principles of Design - Rhythm

This picture represents rhythm since it shows the repetition of the entrance and the pillars over and over again.  Their size and shape tend to change as we move from right to left which gives a sense of continuation.

Principles of Design - Harmony

This Picture manifests harmony since it shows unity between two people joining their fists. Also, this picture uses colors from the same color pallet ie. Brown, giving a harmonious effect as all the parts tend be complimenting each other.
